LHH Recruitment Solutions is hiring a Plant Manager for a growing Metal Fabrication organization in Center Line, MI . As the Metal Fabrication Plant Manager, you will play a crucial role in fostering an environment aligned with The clients core values: openness and honesty, dependability, adaptability, taking ownership, and maintaining a positive attitude. Your key responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities:
Overseeing all daily operations, including production scheduling, inventory, and process management for 70 employees.
Ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and environmental standards.
Managing the plant budget and identifying areas for cost reduction.
Leading, motivating, and developing a team of supervisors and production personnel.
Training new staff and fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement.
Maintaining clear and concise communication with all levels of management and staff.
Collaborating with other departments, such as engineering, sales, and purchasing.
Generating and analyzing production reports to monitor performance and identify trends.
Managing and mitigating production risks and disruptions.
Participating in all daily "Fast Response and White Board" cross-functional team meetings.
Acting as the primary architect in the creation of visual work instructions required for departments.
Implementing innovative VAVE solutions based on data analysis (AOD) and organizational objectives.
Creating standard work, applying takt-times, and conducting line balancing analysis.
Evaluating tooling, processes, and systems.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a metal manufacturing plant management role.
Proficiency in using shop floor metrology and inspection tools, including height gauges, micrometers, and other precision instruments.
Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
In-depth knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requirements.
Extensive experience in budgeting and cost control.
Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance.
Proficiency manufacturing ERP systems.
