Job Description:
The Cash Applications Specialist is responsible for managing key cash-related functions, including posting and applying cash receipts, performing bank reconciliations, and overseeing the management of fixed assets. This role ensures accurate cash records, timely reconciliations, and proper tracking and reporting of fixed assets. Working in a fast-paced environment, this position requires a professional, detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills who can effectively work both independently and within a team.
Responsibilities:
- Cash Application & Posting: Post and apply cash receipts with accuracy, ensuring the General Ledger (GL) is updated promptly. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in cash postings, maintaining precise financial records.
- Bank Reconciliation: Conduct monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts, identifying and resolving variances. Maintain detailed records of reconciliations to support audit requirements.
- Fixed Assets Management: Oversee the management of fixed assets, including tracking acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of fixed assets.
- Reporting: Prepare daily/monthly reports for cash receipts and fixed assets as requested. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data analysis.
- Collaboration: Coordinate and collaborate with Front and Middle Office colleagues to research and resolve unapplied cash. Work closely with the finance team to ensure alignment on financial processes and goals.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of cash application processes and systems.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion AR and Cash App system is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain quality and accuracy while completing repetitive tasks.
- Willingness to adjust priorities to help others for the benefit of a successful month-end close.
