Job Title: Contract Attorney – SC Real Estate Development
Location: Charleston, SC (Hybrid preferred; remote considered if within travel distance)
Pay Rate: $65–$80/hour (W2)
Duration: 6-month initial term, likely to extend
Hours: 20–40 hours/week (fluctuating but must be available during regular business hours)
Concurrent Work: Not permitted
About the Role:
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a South Carolina-licensed real estate attorney with a minimum of 3 years of commercial real estate development experience. This is a long-term, part-time to full-time contract opportunity with flexible hours and the potential for ongoing engagement. Candidates must reside in SC and be located in or near Charleston, SC, or able to travel there occasionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft and review real estate development documents, including covenants, condominium declarations, easements, and related agreements.
Advise on acquisition, development, leasing, and financing of commercial and residential real estate projects.
Support regulatory and permitting processes, including zoning and land use.
Provide legal guidance on developments such as hotels, resorts, golf courses, timeshares, mixed-use, and residential communities.
Conduct due diligence and risk assessments for development transactions.
Qualifications:
Actively barred and in good standing to practice law in South Carolina.
Minimum 3 years of recent experience in SC commercial real estate development (8+ years preferred for top pay rate).
Strong drafting skills and familiarity with SC-specific real estate laws and practices.
Located in SC and near Charleston, SC, or able to travel there occasionally.
Comfortable with variable weekly hours and committed to exclusive engagement (no concurrent work).
Additional Requirements:
Background check, employment and education verification, and conflict check required prior to engagement.
Pay Details: $65.00 to $80.00 per hour
