LHH is seeking a Human Resources Manager to join a respected, mission-driven organization. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to lead and implement people-first strategies in a collaborative, values-based environment. You will be responsible for HRIS management, benefits administration, recruitment, performance management, and employee engagement. This role reports to the HR Director and plays a key part in shaping HR policies and ensuring compliance with employment laws and internal standards.
Primary Responsibilities
HR Policy & Program Leadership
Administer health and welfare benefits programs, including policy design and communication.
Select, implement, and manage HR technology systems (Paylocity experience preferred).
Maintain and update the Employee Handbook in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Design and evaluate programs for recruitment, development, retention, and performance management.
Oversee consultants and vendors supporting HR initiatives.
Employee Engagement & Relations
Communicate HR policies and procedures.
Develop employee engagement strategies and lead wellness and social initiatives.
Serve as a resource for employee concerns and facilitate resolution.
Advise managers on HR and employee relations issues.
Board & Committee Support
Prepare HR materials and presentations for board and committee meetings.
Coach and support HR staff in implementing programs and policies.
Participate in professional development and nonprofit HR networks.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field.
5+ years in a managerial HR position, with responsibility for core HR functions.
Strong HRIS experience (Paylocity preferred), including implementation and reporting.
Familiarity with payroll processes and collaboration with finance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs).
Deep understanding of employment laws and compliance.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain confidentiality.
