LHH Recruitment Solutions is now in collaboration with a distributor within the food and beverage sector based in Cherry Hill, NJ. They are seeking to fill the position of a Temporary Deductions Analyst. The duration of this contract role is anticipated to be between four to six months.

Pay: $33 -$35/hr


The Deduction Analyst, stationed at our Cherry Hill, NJ office, operates under the AR Supervisor's direction. This role is crucial in managing the daily activities within the accounts receivable sector of the Finance Department. Tasked with the prompt resolution of customer deductions, the analyst also analyzes patterns to forecast customer actions. Their key duties encompass conducting thorough analyses to determine the origins of deductions, confirming their validity, resolving them, and maintaining detailed records. The goal is to resolve deductions accurately and swiftly, adhering to departmental standards, with an emphasis on proactive deduction mitigation.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a portfolio of top-tier Private Label and Branded clients

  • Ensure prompt and accurate entry and upkeep of trade settlements

  • Confirm promotional event specifics match trade agreements and highlight any inconsistencies

  • Analyze patterns in deductions, including shortages, damages, unsaleable items, and pricing issues

  • Monitor and reconcile deduction balances, securing necessary documentation from principal clients

  • Develop strategies to mitigate and avert future deductions

  • Collaborate with Customer Service and Sales teams to address and resolve deduction issues

  • Engage with Accounts Receivable and clients for additional documentation, including navigating customer web-portals

  • Assist the Manager with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) assessments and periodic team briefings

  • Initiate and lead changes in deduction management processes

  • Partner with internal teams, external brokers, and clients to foster cooperative relationships

  • Spearhead process enhancement initiatives and evaluate new system functionalities

  • Support audit activities, both internally and externally

  • Undertake additional general accounting duties and projects as needed



Education and Experience Requirements:

Essential Qualifications:
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

  • Possess 2-3 years of experience in Accounting or Finance roles.

  • Have 1-3 years of work experience in the consumer products sector, particularly in manufacturing. Experience in the food and beverage industry is highly desirable.

  • Exhibits excellent communication skills, both in writing and speaking, along with strong interpersonal abilities.

  • Shows a strong technical orientation and problem-solving mindset.

  • Can operate effectively both as an independent contributor and within a collaborative team environment.

  • Is proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
