We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join one of our top nonprofit client’s accounting teams in Chicago, IL. This is a temporary position for a 4+ month contract covering a leave. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to oversee AP and AR is needed for the position. To qualify you must be able to start ASAP and have at least 3 years of GL experience.

You will be responsible for:

• Preparing financial statements

• Performing account and bank reconciliations

• Maintaining the G/L and performing month-end close

• Assisting with P&L variance analysis

• Preparing financial reports as assigned

To qualify you must have the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field

• 3+ years of accounting experience

• Nonprofit industry experience

• Strong Excel skills (proficiency with PivotTables, VLOOKUPS is a must)

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize accordingly

• Excellent communication skills
