LHH is seeking a highly experienced Accounting Consultant to support financial reporting and accounting operations during a critical period of growth and transformation. This role is ideal for a senior-level professional with a strong background in financial reporting, ERP systems, and process improvement across diverse industries.
Location: Downtown Chicago (Hybrid – 1 day onsite per week)
Duration: Minimum 1-year assignment with potential for temp-to-hire
Rate: $75–$85/hour
Position Type: Temp
Target Start Date: Mid-July 2025
Key Responsibilities
Manage monthly close activities and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Reconcile intercompany accounts and oversee vendor payment processes.
Prepare financial statements and support external reporting requirements.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.
Lead or assist with financial system implementations and testing.
Develop reporting tools to improve financial visibility and decision-making.
Collaborate across departments and manage offshore accounting support.
Support audits by organizing documentation and addressing inquiries.
Compile and review financial statements, while also contributing to the preparation of SEC filings
Contribute to financial modeling for strategic initiatives like M&A.
Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Monitor and enforce compliance with SOX regulations and other financial reporting standards.
Document and refine accounting policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
10+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience
Proven track record in consulting roles across various industries
Strong technical proficiency in ERP systems such as NetSuite and Oracle
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Skilled in system testing, ERP system implementation, and streamlining business processes for improved efficiency
