Job Title: Assistant Corporate Controller
Location: Chicago, IL (100% In-Person)
Are you a finance professional with a passion for operational excellence and innovation? We’re seeking an experienced Assistant Corporate Controller to join a dynamic and mission-driven investment firm in Chicago. About the Role
As the Assistant Corporate Controller, you’ll play a key role in transforming and managing the firm’s corporate accounting operations. You’ll report directly to the VP of Corporate Finance & Accounting and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead automation of AP and corporate credit card processes
• Implement and enforce spend controls across departments
• Manage daily cash reporting and assist with budget forecasting
• Support monthly financial reporting to senior leadership
• Process payments and manage invoice workflows
• Prepare consulting receivables and intercompany reconciliations
• Maintain accurate entries in QuickBooks across entities
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and financial reporting
• Oversee corporate credit card allocations and reconciliations
• Assist with general partner entity accounting as needed
What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
• 6–10+ years of relevant experience, ideally in financial services
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; QuickBooks experience a plus
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Experience with management company accounting is a plus
