Job Title: Business Development Manager - Meetings and Events

Location: Chicago

Job Description: Are you ready to join an exciting and fast-paced industry where creativity and innovation are highly valued? A dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager is needed to join a Meetings and Events team. This role is pivotal in driving strategic growth goals by identifying and securing new business opportunities, as well as nurturing and expanding existing client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to close new accounts and grow existing ones.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring maximum visibility and potential for repeat business.

  • Conduct market research to identify potential leads and understand the competitive landscape.

  • Prepare and present compelling sales proposals and presentations.

  • Manage a robust pipeline of opportunities in the CRM database.

  • Attend industry functions and network to develop new business opportunities.

  • Provide business development training and mentoring to team members.

  • Submit weekly activity and sales progress reports, ensuring accurate data recording in the CRM system.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in the industry, preferably in the Meetings sector.

  • Proven track record in identifying and generating new business, as well as maintaining client relationships.

  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to travel for meetings and conventions.
