Controller – Manufacturing Organization (Chicago Suburbs)
LHH Recruitment Solutions is supporting a client on a Controller search for a privately held manufacturing organization located in the northern suburbs of Chicago. This is a unique opportunity to lead core accounting functions and partner with senior leadership on business initiatives and continued steady growth.
Position Overview:
The Controller will oversee the organization’s general accounting, financial reporting, cost accounting, and AP/AR functions. This role will also serve as the primary liaison to external audit and tax firms and will collaborate with senior leadership on budgeting and forecasting. The Controller will play a key role in software implementation and enhancing financial reporting and analysis capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting processes.
· Oversee cost accounting operations and ensure accurate product costing and inventory valuation.
· Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
· Serve as the point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors.
· Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts.
· Contribute to ERP and financial systems implementation and optimization.
· Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting and operational efficiency.
· Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic financial initiatives.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 7 years of broad based accounting leadership within a smaller company or division setting
· Strong cost accounting experience or CPA certification required.
· Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
· Proven ability to lead accounting operations and manage teams.
· Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
· Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Preferred Experience:
· Exposure to software implementation projects.
· Experience enhancing reporting and analysis capabilities.

Pay Details:
