LHH is looking to hire a Controller for a hybrid role located in downtown Chicago. This role presents a unique chance to leverage your financial and accounting expertise while playing a pivotal part in strategic and operational decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Supervising the Staff Accountant, Accounts Payable Specialist, and Accounts Receivable Specialist • Overseeing all aspects of Accounts Payable functions, encompassing vendor payments, expense reports, and credit card reconciliations

• Managing the month-end close process, including account reconciliations and related journal entries

• Preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules

• Assisting with cash flow management, including bank transfers, approvals, and forecasting

• Participation in the budget/forecast process and subsequent variance analysis

• Conducting ad hoc projects such as pricing optimization, cost reduction, and process improvement initiatives

• Providing support for external audits and tax preparation

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Accounting

• 7+ years of relevant work experience (experience in private companies preferred)

• Familiarity with private company tax procedures (e.g., tax planning, state/federal filing, payroll taxes, etc.)

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities

• Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment

• Experience in the Managed IT space is advantageous

• Familiarity with Sage Intacct, Tallie, and/or CostGuard is a plus
