LHH is working with one our prestigious clients based in Chicago who is looking to hire a IT Security Specialist to join our team for a 1 year+ project (very strong possibility of extension) and the role will be 100% remote. Candidates should ideally have experience with MITRE ATT&CK or strong SOC tools/Operations (SIEM, SOAR, DFIR) to be considered.
Candidates MUST be willing to work as a W2 employee of LHH and be a resident of the United States to be considered.
Our client’s global IT security team is seeking an individual contributor focused on proactively detecting and disrupting adversary activity before it impacts operations. This role emphasizes log and network traffic analysis, incident response, and threat hunting using the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and analyze security tools (SIEM, EDR, IDS, firewalls, etc.) to detect threats.
Lead incident triage and assess scope of potential attacks.
Mentor junior analysts and review their work for quality.
Collaborate with SOC, threat intel, and incident response teams.
Identify visibility gaps and recommend improvements.
Maintain and enhance detection playbooks and processes.
Communicate incident details clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Coordinate advanced forensics and malware analysis with third-party vendors.
Qualifications
Strong experience with SOC tools and operations (SIEM, SOAR, DFIR).
Deep understanding of incident response lifecycle and cybersecurity best practices.
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., SOX, privacy).
Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant security platforms.
Insurance industry experience is a plus.
CISSP, GCFA, GCIH, GCFE, or equivalent.
