Intellectual Property Patent Paralegal
Candidate must reside in either Chicago; Milwaukee; Madison to work in the office in either of these three cities.
We are seeking a Patent Prosecution Paralegal to join our client’s team in Chicago, Milwaukee, or Madison. This role is fully onsite and offers a salary range of $70,000 to $95,000, depending on experience. The paralegal will assist with all aspects of patent preparation and prosecution across multiple clients and technologies.
Experience with research institutions and/or tech transfers is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities:
Coordinating the filing of new patent applications.
Analyzing USPTO and foreign counsel correspondence.
Tracking due dates using matter management and docketing systems.
Proactively preparing client reports and prosecution documents.
Communicating with the USPTO, attorneys, paralegals, liaisons, foreign associates, staff, and clients regarding prosecution matters.
Qualifications:
At least 5 years of experience working with intellectual property, with a focus on patent prosecution.
A minimum of 2+ years of law firm experience.
A bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certification is desirable.
Strong attention to detail and expertise in managing an extensive patent prosecution docket.
Exceptional client service focus.
A commitment to being part of a collaborative team.
Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Outstanding communication (oral and written) and organizational skills.
