Our client is looking for an experienced individual for a contract to hire Junior Accountant Job in Chicago. The Junior Accountant will have the overall responsibility of providing accounting support within the department. Your day to duties will include providing financial information by maintaining and reconciling accounts; preparing reports.

  • Location: Downtown Chicago area

  • Position Type: Direct Hire

  • Salary: $60k

  • Worksite Type: Full Onsite

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze account reconciliations, ad hoc reporting, and journal entries

  • Administer accounts receivable and accounts payable

  • Assist with the month end close procedures

  • Maintain financial records for by analyzing income statement and balance sheet accounts

  • Review financial information for the purpose of identifying potential budget variances

  • Assist with internal and external audits

  • Research and analyze of various P&L accounts

  • Researches discrepancies of financial information and/or documentation

  • Provides financial status information by preparing special reports

  • Review and code vendor invoices

  • Research and respond to various vendor, client and counterparty inquiries

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting Required

  • At least two years of experience in the Finance or Accounting industry

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices

  • Strong decision making and analytical abilities

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Proficient in QuickBooks a plus

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong Communication Skills
