A highly regarded hospitality and entertainment group in Chicago's beautiful River North area is seeking a Senior Accountant with experience in full cycle accounting and reporting. This position will directly support accounting functions for a small portfolio, joining an excellent and experienced and team in the accounting and finance department. Responsibilities:



  • Performs full cycle accounting for 2 business units


  • Review and produce monthly financial statements, P&L and sales reports


  • Reconcile and balance several bank accounts monthly


  • Analyze financial statements, variances and provide explanations and notations as needed


  • Monitor and process accounts payable, accounts receivable and daily recording of transactions to accounting software


  • Monitor budgets, inventory, assets and depreciation schedules


  • Assist with monthly and quarterly reports


  • Prepares and executes journal entries, reclasses, omissions and accruals to the general ledger


  • Participate in the integration of accounting system upgrades and other special projects


  • Lead and assist Staff Accountant with accounting procedures and maintenance of accurate GAAP compliance


Qualifications:



  • 3+ years of accounting experience at a Staff or Senior level


  • Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred


  • Professional Service or Hospitality industry preferred


  • Must have strong understanding of GAAP and accounting control procedures


  • Self-starter, with great time-management skills, excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workflows


DETAILS:



  • This position is a contract-to-hire opportunity


  • Salary Ranges: $85,000-$95,000


  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm or similar
