A highly regarded hospitality and entertainment group in Chicago's beautiful River North area is seeking a Senior Accountant with experience in full cycle accounting and reporting. This position will directly support accounting functions for a small portfolio, joining an excellent and experienced and team in the accounting and finance department. Responsibilities:
Performs full cycle accounting for 2 business units
Review and produce monthly financial statements, P&L and sales reports
Reconcile and balance several bank accounts monthly
Analyze financial statements, variances and provide explanations and notations as needed
Monitor and process accounts payable, accounts receivable and daily recording of transactions to accounting software
Monitor budgets, inventory, assets and depreciation schedules
Assist with monthly and quarterly reports
Prepares and executes journal entries, reclasses, omissions and accruals to the general ledger
Participate in the integration of accounting system upgrades and other special projects
Lead and assist Staff Accountant with accounting procedures and maintenance of accurate GAAP compliance
Qualifications:
3+ years of accounting experience at a Staff or Senior level
Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
Professional Service or Hospitality industry preferred
Must have strong understanding of GAAP and accounting control procedures
Self-starter, with great time-management skills, excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workflows
DETAILS:
This position is a contract-to-hire opportunity
Salary Ranges: $85,000-$95,000
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm or similar
