LHH is hiring a Senior Tax Accountant in the Chicago area, where you’ll work directly with decision-makers, providing essential financial insights that support their strategic goals. Here, you’ll collaborate closely with a small, high-performing team dedicated to delivering world-class services in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
Tax Coordination & Compliance (50%):
Act as the primary liaison with an external CPA firm for tax review and compliance.
Oversee the preparation, review, and compliance of approximately 50 tax returns, including individual, partnership, and K-1 filings.
Coordinate and review deliverables prepared by Deloitte, ensuring accuracy in partnership returns and individual tax returns.
Calculate estimated tax payments and provide ongoing tax analysis and strategy.
Manage the workflow and maintain relationships with external tax professionals, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
Investment Partnership Accounting:
Prepare and review accurate monthly financial statements and investor equity balances for multiple investment partnerships.
Compute quarterly profit interests for partners, ensuring precise financial reporting and compliance.
Accounting:
Manage personal accounting for individuals and trusts, including journal entry preparation and monthly financial statement finalization.
Compile quarterly financial reporting packages that include budget versus actual spending analyses for individual clients and trusts.
Oversee the corporate accounting function, reviewing journal entries and finalizing monthly financial statements.
Partner with the CFO and President on the annual budget preparation, providing a quarterly budget-to-actual presentation for review.
Qualifications:
CPA required.
Minimum of 4-5 years of tax experience, preferably within a family office, with individuals, trusts, or investment partnerships.
