LHH is looking for a Staff Accountant near Chicago's Gold Coast. Candidates need at least two years of accounting experience, preferably in nonprofit. Key duties include journal entries, general ledger maintenance, monthly closings, and daily cash management reporting. Nonprofit experience is strongly preferred. QuickBooks experience is must! Location: Chicago-Gold Coast Area
Position Type: Direct Hire
Rate: $58-$60k
Worksite Type: 100% onsite
Position Duties:
Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts
Process vendor invoices and ensure proper approval
Assist with month-end closing activities
Contribute to month-end financial reporting
Prepare and review month-end financial statements
Manage the fixed asset system
Prepare and record monthly account reconciliations
Reconcile bank transaction records
Perform ad hoc analyses as required
Organize client tax information for federal and state tax compliance
Assist in the preparation of financial statements
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
A minimum of three years of progressive general accounting experience.
Experience in the nonprofit industry is preferred.
Strong analytical skills are essential.
Excellent communication abilities.
Proficiency in presenting facts and recommendations.
Demonstrated understanding of corporate accounting principles.
Proven ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
