Job Title: VP of Accounting / CFO track
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid - 3 days in office)
Salary: $175K - $200K base + 10-15% discretionary bonus

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced VP of Accounting for a confidential client in the Chicago area. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and play a pivotal role in the financial leadership of the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with experience managing a team and overseeing various accounting functions. This role is on a CFO track, offering significant growth potential within the organization.

• Assist in the preparation of the General Ledger and P&L statements

• Manage A/R, A/P, and Payroll

• Oversee production of KPIs and revenue and expense variance analysis

• Reconcile accruals to cash accounting statements

• Generate and maintain P&L’s for additional business units and department level P&L’s

• Oversee and generate multiple commission calculations across the firm

• Serve as the firm’s financial representative on a board

• Manage a staff of 5

• Lead strategic finance initiatives to drive long-term financial planning and analysis

• Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's goals

• Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and provide financial insights to support decision-making

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required

• CPA required

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong career trajectory

• Experience managing an accounting team of 5 or more people

• Experience in financial services or asset management

• Experience automating manual accounting processes
