Front-End Developer (WordPress)

Location: Hybrid in Chicago
Type: W2 Contract, with optional benefits
Duration: 3–4 months to start, with potential to be long-term
Hours: 40 hours/week


Our client is seeking a skilled WordPress Web Developer to help maintain, update and optimize their current websites as well as support key initiatives. This is a full-time W2 contract role with the potential to extend into a longer-term engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, launch, and maintain WordPress-based websites aligned with brand standards and business objectives

  • Build and manage individual property or campaign-specific sites using modern front-end technologies

  • Create and maintain reusable, custom-coded templates and components for scalable development

  • Ensure responsive, accessible, and cross-browser-compatible implementations with optimized performance

  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to deliver high-quality, on-time solutions

  • Manage digital assets and version-controlled code repositories for team accessibility and consistency

  • Conduct QA testing, troubleshoot front-end issues, and provide post-launch support

  • Communicate project status, risks, and updates proactively to stakeholders

  • Oversee vendor relationships, ensuring alignment on scope, quality, and delivery, while supporting evaluation and transition planning

  • Stay current with WordPress updates and front-end best practices to recommend ongoing improvements

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of WordPress front-end web development experience, with wide knowledge of WordPress integrations

  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, client-focused approach

  • Experience managing third-party vendors and/or working with agencies are preferred



Pay Details: $35.00 to $43.00 per hour
