Salary Range: $50,000 – $62,000 Annually
A respected Chicago-based law firm is actively seeking a Workers' Compensation Legal Assistant to join their legal support team. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working directly with clients, and has experience supporting attorneys handling injury-related cases.
Position Overview:
The Workers' Compensation Legal Assistant will provide day-to-day support to attorneys, assisting with active case management and trial preparation. This role involves frequent client interaction, requires excellent time management skills, and demands a high level of attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and capable of handling a high-volume caseload while maintaining superior client service.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a high-volume caseload, providing primary administrative support to assigned attorneys.
Serve as a key point of contact for clients, offering compassionate and timely communication throughout the legal process.
Coordinate client meetings, updates, and case documentation to ensure smooth case progression.
Promptly identify urgent matters and bring them to the attention of attorneys.
Process, record, and distribute client payments and settlement checks.
Handle a variety of administrative tasks, including scheduling, document preparation, and file management.
Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned by attorneys or firm leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Legal Assistant or Case Manager in a law firm setting.
At least 1 year of experience supporting Workers’ Compensation or Personal Injury matters.
Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and manage time effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive work ethic.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Committed to delivering exceptional client service.
Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, are a plus but not required.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: $50,000 – $62,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
