LHH is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll and Benefits Specialist for our client in Chula Vista, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the accurate processing of payroll, administering employee benefits, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies. You must have the ability to process payroll for up to 350 total employees in this role.
The anticipated salary for this role is between $55,000-$72,000 a year.
Responsibilities:
· Process payroll for up to 350 employees in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
· Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, leave policies, and other company offerings.
· Coordinate enrollment, changes, and terminations of benefits for new hires, current employees, and retirees.
· Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure timely reporting and payment of taxes, garnishments, and other deductions.
· Prepare and review payroll reports to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
· Assist in audits related to payroll and benefits, providing required documentation and responding to inquiries.
· Collaborate with HR and accounting departments to ensure proper reporting and reconciliation of payroll expenses.
· Provide guidance and support to employees regarding payroll inquiries, benefits questions, and compliance issues.
· Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll laws, tax regulations, and benefits trends to ensure company compliance.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field (preferred).
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing and benefits administration.
· Strong knowledge of payroll software and systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms). Experience with ADP Workforce Now is ideal.
· In-depth understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations, tax laws, and employee benefits programs.
· Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.
