Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for an experienced accountant with construction industry experience or similar. This position will be responsible for AP, AR, Cash Management, Payroll, Month-End, and administrative support for the Cincinnati office. This position is temp to hire and will pay between $60K and $85K annually depending on experience and education.

Job Duties:
  • Perform daily A/P financial transactions including verification of product receipts, PO matching, recording bills, and vendor payments.
  • Perform daily A/R financial transactions including invoicing, processing customer receipts, and collection calls.
  • Process payroll ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees.
  • Enter information and data into the accounting system.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and accounting rules.
  • Reconcile intercompany billings.
  • Monitor monetary transactions.
  • Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
  • Run ad hoc reports, as requested.
  • Support Site Controller in month-end closing tasks, as needed.
  • Assist with annual audit preparations and responses.
  • Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
  • Support the on and offboarding of team members. Serve as an administrator in the payroll and benefits systems.
  • Maintain personnel files.
  • Perform other office duties and support as required.
  • Follow all Company and customer safety rules and regulations. Report any safety concerns and/or accidents to a safety representative or manager immediately.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and practices.
  • Experience in construction or a similar industry.
  • Knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Previous accounting experience, specifically AP, AP, and cash management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools, specifically Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced environment and on multiple projects at a time.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information.
  • Previous payroll processing experience highly preferred.
  • Previous experience using Sage software highly preferred.
  • Experience assessing and supporting the standardization and improvement of internal processes.
