Staff Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for an experienced staff accountant for a growing client in the greater Cincinnati area. Ideal candidates will have 2+ years of general accounting experience along with intermediate Microsoft excel skills. This position is temp to hire and will pay between $25 and $34/hr. depending on experience and education.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and reports for accuracy and legal compliance.
• Manage general ledger and perform month-end and year-end closure procedures.
• Conduct detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
• Maintain and update accounting records and files.
• Analyze budgets and create expense reports.
• Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, and other tax requirements.
• Review and process payroll and benefits.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Provide support during internal and external audits.
• Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or relevant role in accounting.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with financial reporting requirements.
• Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.
• Knowledge of accounting for transactions in multiple currencies.
