Title: Corporate Accounting Manager

Location: Clarendon Hills, IL (On-site)
Employment Type: Full-time

Position Summary

A company is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Corporate Accounting Manager to lead the monthly close and consolidation process, manage internal and external reporting, and support strategic financial initiatives. This role will oversee a small team and collaborate cross-functionally with senior leadership, HR, Legal, and external auditors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the monthly accounting close and corporate consolidation process, including all internal and external financial reporting.

  • Serve as administrator for the corporate consolidation system (Unicom Finance), managing both routine and ad-hoc tasks.

  • Contribute to monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes.

  • Ensure timely and accurate consolidation of domestic and foreign entities, including elimination entries in accordance with GAAP.

  • Prepare and review the monthly results package for executive management.

  • Review and approve monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, with a focus on process improvement and documentation.

  • Manage equity financial reporting, including share-based compensation and earnings per share (EPS) accounting.

  • Collaborate with HR and Legal to ensure accuracy of stock-based compensation items.

  • Identify, research, and resolve technical accounting issues at both corporate and segment levels.

  • Review lease accounting analyses and coordinate reporting across business units.

  • Manage the in-house SEC filing process and ensure compliance with XBRL reporting requirements.

  • Act as liaison with external auditors and manage quarterly PBC deliverables.

  • Aggregate and provide financial data for internal and external presentations.

  • Drive operational improvements to streamline the close-to-reporting cycle.

  • Document processes, methodologies, and unique transactions clearly and effectively.

  • Manage a team of 2–3 direct reports and provide oversight to cross-functional support personnel.

  • Develop and train junior staff and support succession planning.

  • Lead and support ad-hoc projects, including M&A activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)

  • CPA certification (required)

  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience

  • 2+ years of supervisory experience

  • SEC reporting experience (required)

  • Public accounting and/or industry experience (preferred)

  • Manufacturing industry background (preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations

  • Proficiency in technical accounting research and documentation

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving abilities

  • ERP systems experience, preferably JD Edwards and Cognos (Unicom

Compensation

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $125,000, an anticipated bonus of up to 10%, commission based upon a written compensation plan.
