LHH is seeking a direct hire Legal Assistant, Legal Assistant II and Legal Assistant III to sit on client site 100% in Costa Mesa, CA.

PERSONAL INJURY EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED

Salary is $40,000-$80,000 depending on experience and level.

Summary

Our expanding personal injury firm is seeking a dedicated, proactive, and energetic team player to join our Demands Department. The ideal candidate will collaborate with a supportive and inspiring team to prepare and write demand packages, resolve cases, and close client matters.

Legal Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Attorneys and the Demands Team on settlements.

  • Answer and route incoming calls on a multi-line telephone system.

  • Scan, photocopy, fax, and file documents.

  • Draft demands to insurance carriers.

  • Assist attorneys in evaluating new offers.

  • Present counter-demands, both written and verbal, to carriers and adjusters.

  • Monitor and prioritize cases as statutes of limitations approach.

  • Keep clients informed of all case progress and status changes.

  • Regularly communicate with clients and their families regarding injuries and settlements.

  • Act as a liaison to litigation teams.

  • Manage case status updates and document all information in CRM.

  • Send settlement releases to clients and insurance companies.

  • Sort and document settlement correspondence from insurance carriers.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Legal Assistant Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, English Literature, or a similar field.

  • 1-2 years of experience in Personal Injury law or a similar role is preferred.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Highly organized.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Attention to detail.
