LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and creative Application Specialist for a direct hire opportunity with an innovative organization in the greater Charlotte area. The Application Specialist will provide technical support in product testing and development, preparing sample solutions and application concepts tailored to customer needs. This individual will play a key role in translating client requirements into technical outcomes through hands-on work and collaboration with internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Sales and Applications teams to prepare customer samples, demos, and creative product concepts for meetings and trade shows.

  • Document technical data and parameters for all projects in internal tracking systems.

  • Generate clear and concise technical reports outlining methods, formulations, and results.

  • Research product characteristics including formulation replicability and ingredient sourcing.

  • Support collaborative product development across internal teams to meet project deadlines.

  • Maintain thorough documentation of demos, formulations, and applications.

  • Respond to technical questions from internal and external stakeholders.

  • Apply food science and product development expertise to align outputs with industry standards.

  • Contribute ideas for new product concepts and demo experiences.

  • Maintain lab cleanliness and organization; manage ingredient inventory as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support ideation and execution of technical presentations for trade shows and webinars.

  • Assist Sales team with on-site customer visits and project discussions.

  • Attend relevant conferences and industry events as required.

  • Keep internal systems and ingredient libraries up to date.

  • Complete required safety and compliance training in a timely manner.

  • Follow all internal policies and GMP, SQF, PPE, and food safety standards.

  • Foster a collaborative environment with a focus on quality, hygiene, and innovation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or related discipline.

  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience in product development or applications work within the food or consumer goods industry.

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP/project tracking systems (e.g., Navision, QlikView, or similar) preferred.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

  • Willingness to travel for client visits, tradeshows, or industry events.




Pay Details: $65,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year
