The Litigation Paralegal will play a critical role in supporting attorneys throughout the life cycle of high-profile commercial litigation cases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial business litigation, exceptional organizational skills, and a keen attention to detail. This position requires the ability to manage multiple high-priority cases simultaneously, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management: Assist with managing litigation cases from inception to close, including organizing case files, tracking deadlines, and maintaining case calendars.
Document Preparation & Review: Draft and format legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and deposition summaries. Review and organize evidence for trial preparation.
Discovery: Coordinate the discovery process, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, managing document production, and conducting legal research.
Trial Preparation: Assist attorneys with trial preparation by preparing exhibits, trial binders, and witness lists. Attend trials, depositions, and hearings as needed, providing trial support and ensuring all logistics are coordinated.
Filing & E-Filing: File documents with courts, government agencies, and other entities, ensuring compliance with all filing deadlines and rules (both state and federal courts).
Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to gather necessary case information, schedule meetings, and update on case status.
Billing & Timekeeping: Track billable hours and ensure accurate time entries for the attorneys supported.
Coordination with Experts: Coordinate with expert witnesses, consultants, and other professionals in connection with case preparation.
Legal Research: Conduct research on case law, statutes, regulations, and legal trends to support case strategy and litigation efforts.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of commercial business litigation experience in a law firm
Strong knowledge of state and federal court procedures, including e-filing and discovery rules.
Proficiency with legal research tools such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other litigation management platforms.
Exceptional writing, proofreading, and document management skills.
Experience with trial preparation and support, including the use of trial presentation software and managing trial exhibits.
Ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, attorneys, and staff.
Paralegal Certification (preferred but not required).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Pay Details: $75,000.00 to $120,000.00 per year
