Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) (Salary Range: $200,000 - $250,000+ bonus)


LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Chief Accounting Officer for a prestigious family office in Dallas, TX, within the financial services industry. The CAO will oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, and strategic financial planning for high-net-worth individuals and their related entities.


The ideal candidate will hold an active CPA license and have a minimum of 10 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a family office environment. Additionally, they should have at least five years of experience in a management or supervisory role, with a strong understanding of financial planning, analysis, and reporting.


Responsibilities:



  • Manage all aspects of financial accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting.


  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.


  • Oversee cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and investment activities, collaborating with senior leadership and external advisors.


  • Prepare and present detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with analysis on financial performance, variances, and cash positions.


  • Provide strategic financial recommendations and insights to support decision-making by family office principals.


  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, ensuring competence and adherence to best practices in financial reporting and cash management.


  • Collaborate with senior management and family members on financial strategies, supporting special projects, acquisitions, estate planning, and philanthropic initiatives.


Client Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.


  • Active CPA license is required.


  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant accounting experience


  • Experience in public accounting


  • Financial services experience


  • At least 5 years of experience in a management or supervisory role.
