Job Summary:
A high-growth private equity investment firm is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Accountant to support its fund operations. This role requires strong ownership of the AP function across a complex structure of 300+ entities. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments and understands how to apply expense classification across a global, multi-entity chart of accounts.
Responsibilities:
Process and code vendor invoices, wires, and ACH payments accurately across 300+ entities
Ensure GL coding aligns with fund-specific chart of accounts and expense classifications
Respond to internal inquiries and resolve AP-related issues independently
Handle vendor communications regarding payment status and documentation
Prepare annual 1099s and audit support schedules
Support investor billings and intercompany allocations as needed
Maintain accuracy in high-volume, multi-national payment processing
Collaborate with Accounting, Legal, and Contract teams to ensure accuracy and policy compliance
Assist with audit requests and fund reporting requirements
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in accounts payable, preferably in fund services, private equity, or asset management
Experience with multi-entity and multi-national accounting structures (300+ entities ideal)
Strong understanding of expense recognition, intercompany allocations, and chart of accounts
Advanced Excel skills and comfort in high-volume environments
Detail-oriented with the ability to problem-solve independently and manage competing deadlines
Experience supporting fund audits and working across departments preferred
Oracle, PeopleSoft, or other large ERP experience is a plus
Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year
