Senior Accountant ($90,000 - $100,000 Plus Bonus)

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Senior Accountant for a client in the construction sector located in South Dallas, TX. This position is responsible for overseeing job cost accounting and work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, supporting accurate project tracking and revenue recognition in a dynamic, project-based environment.

Responsibilities

· Prepare and maintain monthly WIP schedules and ensure timely and accurate revenue recognition.

· Collaborate with project managers to track costs, monitor project progress, and ensure accurate job financials.

· Review and approve invoices, expenses, and journal entries for proper coding and compliance.

· Partner with billing to ensure project billings align with job status and supporting documentation.

· Analyze job costs and margins, identify billing variances, and flag cost trends that impact profitability.

· Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and assist with monthly close and financial reporting.

· Track capital expenditures, manage the fixed asset register, and record depreciation.

· Support internal and external audits with organized documentation and financial schedules.

· Contribute to process improvements to streamline reporting and strengthen internal controls.

Client Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.

· At least five years of relevant accounting experience

· Solid understanding of job cost accounting principles and WIP

· Proficiency with ERP software

· Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and financial modeling.

· Strong communication for working with field operations teams.
