Job Title: Applications Engineer II
Summary:
Seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to support CNC machine operations, customer training, and technical consulting. This role involves hands-on machine setup, programming, and customer-facing responsibilities including proposals and demonstrations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support for CNC machines via phone and in person
Conduct time studies, test cuts, and machine demos
Design and fabricate fixtures for demos and turnkey projects
Troubleshoot complex machining processes
Program CNC machines using G-code, macros, and CAM systems
Set up and inspect parts on 5-axis and mill-turn machines
Generate technical documentation and engineering proposals
Train customers post-installation
Collaborate with sales to consult on customer technical needs
Qualifications:
BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience
3–7 years in CNC machining and applications engineering
Proficient in CNC programming, machine setup, and part processing
Experience with horizontal machining centers is a strong plus
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Location: Onsite at facility (with travel)/Davis, CA
Salary: $102,000 – $110,000 annually (Non-Exempt)
Bonus: Eligible for discretionary bonus
Travel: 15%–25% (includes exhibitions and customer visits)
Pay Details: $102,000.00 to $110,000.00 per year
