Job Title: Inbound Routing Manager (Contract)

Job Type: 3-Month Contract (with possibility of extension)
Location: Remote (occasional travel may be required)

Shift: Standard Business Hours
Start Date: Immediate
Schedule: Full-time


About the Role:


We are seeking a skilled and strategic Inbound Routing Manager to lead a critical project focused on evaluating and improving inbound transportation and routing operations across a national network of facilities. This is a high-impact role that involves deep analysis, cost assessment, and strategic planning for inbound supply movement across approximately 2,800 locations.

The ideal candidate is an analytical thinker with a solid background in logistics, routing, and transportation management, and has a proven ability to lead change and uncover value within complex supply chain operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze Current State:


    Conduct a comprehensive analysis of transportation costs across ~60 suppliers, covering 1.2 million purchase orders annually. Evaluate shipping patterns based on zip codes, weight, and piece count.

  • Define the Value Proposition:


    Use marketplace data and current state analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate with external carriers to obtain rate proposals and model potential efficiencies.

  • Summarize Executive Insights:


    Present clear and concise executive-level summaries to communicate potential savings and strategic opportunities.

  • Lead Change Management Evaluation:


    Segment existing transportation costs and assess them for realistic change management implementation, including considerations like:

    • Fixed-rate transportation fees

    • Private fleet usage

    • Third-party carrier control

    • Contract-restricted terms and future opportunities

  • Resource & Tech Scoping:


    Recommend appropriate headcount and initial technology tools needed to scale the initiative with minimal future staffing.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, routing, or transportation management (with 2+ years in a leadership role) (Required).

  • Strong knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and routing software.

  • Excellent data analysis, problem-solving, and project management skills.

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and best practices in logistics.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics tools.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare-related logistics or transportation.

  • Background in cost-reduction and efficiency improvement initiatives.


Additional Details:

  • Must be able to work remotely with occasional travel as needed.

  • Ability to work in both office and warehouse environments.


Contract Length: 3 Months


Contract Type: 1099 or W2 (based on preference and eligibility)
Extension: Strong potential for extension based on project needs and performance.



Pay Details: $50.00 to $53.00 per hour
