We’re seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support the HR teams on a part-time basis. This position is ideal for a payroll professional who enjoys working independently, maintains a high level of accuracy, and understands multistate payroll processes. You'll play a key role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
Process biweekly or semi-monthly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Manage payroll deductions, garnishments, and direct deposits
Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees in a timely manner
Prepare and review payroll reports for accuracy and distribute as needed
Maintain and update employee payroll records and tax forms
Assist with year-end reporting, including W-2 preparation
Collaborate with HR on new hires, terminations, and employee changes
Qualifications:
2+ years of payroll processing experience required
Familiarity with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Paylocity, or similar)
Working knowledge of payroll laws and best practices
Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and time management skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Preferred:
Experience processing payroll for employees in multiple states
Exposure to HRIS platforms and basic accounting principles
Pay Details: $24.00 to $29.00 per hour
