Job Title: Collector III
Job Summary
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced a senior-level collections professional responsible for managing complex delinquent accounts and driving resolution through strategic communication and negotiation. This role requires a high level of autonomy, judgment, and compliance awareness. The Collector III will serve as a key liaison between the organization and its customers, ensuring timely recovery of outstanding balances while maintaining professionalism and adherence to regulatory standards.
Location: Eagan, MN 55121
Compensation: $25.00 Per Hour

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Initiate contact with customers via phone, email, and written correspondence to resolve overdue accounts.
Analyze customer account histories and financial situations to determine appropriate collection strategies.
Negotiate and establish customized repayment plans that align with both company policies and customer capabilities.
Monitor and follow up on payment arrangements to ensure compliance and timely resolution.
Document all collection activities, customer interactions, and account updates in the system with precision and clarity.
Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., credit, legal, customer service) to resolve disputes and escalate complex cases.
Prepare and submit recommendations to the credit department for accounts requiring further action or write-off.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state collection laws, including FDCPA and company-specific compliance protocols.
Mentor junior collectors by providing guidance, feedback, and support on best practices and performance improvement.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to collections processes.
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or related field preferred.
Experience:
5–7 years of experience in financial services, collections, or customer service.
Proven track record in managing high-volume or high-risk accounts with successful recovery outcomes.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-first approach.
Advanced negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with collections software (e.g., CUBS, FACS, or similar) is a plus.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
Familiarity with credit reporting, legal collections processes, and regulatory compliance.
Basic mentoring and leadership skills to support team development.
Pay Details: $25.00 per hour
