The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance. This is a Contract role located near Evanston, IL.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle recruiting: job postings, screening, interviews, and offers.
- Conduct new hire orientation and ensure completion of onboarding documentation.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
- Support investigations and resolution of employee relations issues.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Administer employee benefits programs including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Assist with payroll processing and resolve discrepancies.
- Coordinate and deliver training programs on company policies, safety, and compliance.
- Support performance management and employee development initiatives.
- Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS.
- Generate reports and support audits as needed.
- Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3–5 years of HR generalist experience.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Workday).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus, especially in manufacturing environments.
