LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a dynamic and rapidly evolving pharmaceutical company recently acquired by a private equity firm is seeking a Senior Accountant/Controller to support post-acquisition financial cleanup and readiness for a major system implementation. This is a hands-on role ideal for a CPA with strong technical accounting skills and experience in fast-paced, transitional environments.

Job Title: Senior Accountant / Controller (CPA Required)
Location: Fully Onsite – Ewing, NJ
Job Type: Temporary to Possible Permanent
Pay Rate: $40–$55/hour (commensurate with experience)
Industry: Pharmaceutical (Private Equity-backed)

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Focus:

• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
• Clean up and restructure the general ledger to align with new ownership and reporting standards.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
• Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
• Manage AP/AR oversight, fixed assets, and accruals.
• Support the chart of accounts redesign in preparation for ERP/system implementation.
• Document and improve accounting policies and procedures.

Finance Focus:

• Collaborate with FP&A and leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
• Assist in the development of budgeting and forecasting models.
• Analyze financial performance and prepare reports for private equity stakeholders.
• Support cash flow management and working capital optimization.
• Participate in financial modeling and scenario planning related to the system transition.
• Help prepare for and support the ERP/system implementation from a finance perspective.

Qualifications:

• CPA required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in pharma, life sciences, or private equity-backed environments.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Experience with system implementations (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
• Ability to work fully onsite in Ewing, NJ.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
