Position Overview: As a Staff Accountant, you will be an integral part of the finance team, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, and supporting financial reporting processes. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the financial health and accuracy of our client's operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger account reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP.
• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and trends, providing actionable insights to management.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits.
• Maintain and ensure proper documentation and compliance with internal controls.
• Continuously improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Assist in job costing and project accounting for construction projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• CPA certification is a plus, but not required.
• Experience with job costing and project accounting is highly desirable.
