LHH has partnered with a Financial Services organization in Fort Worth, TX to hire an Assistant Controller. The ideal candidate will have commercial / consumer banking and mortgage servicing, and management experience. This in-office role offers a competitive salary of $120-150K and a comprehensive benefits package.

Assistant Controller

We are seeking an assistant controller to oversee daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. This role ensures compliance with GAAP, OCC regulations, and industry standards while optimizing financial processes and mentoring the accounting team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly and quarterly close process, ensuring accurate financial statements and reports

  • Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain compliance

  • Oversee general ledger reconciliations, expense processing, and financial reporting

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, staying updated on legislative changes

  • Advise leadership on financial risks, regulatory changes, and strategic decisions

  • Supervise and develop accounting staff, providing training and performance evaluations

  • Oversee audit preparations and interactions with external auditors and regulators

  • Drive process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy

  • Assist in the administration of the budgeting process and financial forecasting

  • Perform additional duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business required

  • 10+ years of experience in financial services, consumer/commercial banking, and/or mortgage banking

  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing an accounting team

  • CPA certification preferred but not required

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial compliance
