HR & Safety Generalist

Grand Rapids, MI

The HR & Safety Generalist will oversee daily Human Resources functions, including talent acquisition, onboarding, training, compensation and benefits administration, leave management, talent development, HR compliance, payroll administration, and employee engagement. Reporting to the President, this role emphasizes community, culture, and collaboration, while balancing employee advocacy and business needs.

Responsibilities:

· Manage the entire employee lifecycle, collaborating with leadership to nurture a strong company culture.

· Enhance the candidate experience through creative recruiting, interviews, offers, and onboarding.

· Work closely with leaders on performance management, compensation adjustments, and improvement plans.

· Ensure accurate payroll processing, including multi-state payroll.

· Facilitate employee leaves, ensuring compliance with policies and legal requirements.

· Maintain I-9 records, safety documentation, and internal ISO processes.

· Train employees on quality and safety compliance.

· Provide general support, maintain employee files, and coordinate internal manager meetings.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Human Resources

· 3+ years’ experience managing all aspects of the employe lifecycle

· HRIS system exposure and multi-state payroll experience (Paycor preferred but not required)

· Must be able to travel for three days each quarter (all expenses covered)

· The ability to be in an individual contributor role



Pay Details: $50,000.00 to $60,000.00 per year
