We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Leave of Absence (LOA) Consultant to lead the administration of an organization's leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, short-term disability, long-term disability, parental leave, and other company-sponsored leave programs. This role ensures compliance with applicable laws and provides an excellent employee experience throughout the leave process.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the full lifecycle of employee leave requests, including intake, documentation, eligibility determination, and communication throughout the leave process.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws (FMLA, ADA, state-specific regulations) as well as company policies.
Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave of absence procedures and updates.
Coordinate with third-party leave administrators, insurance carriers, and internal HR and payroll teams to ensure seamless administration.
Track and maintain accurate leave records, case statuses, and documentation.
Develop and implement improvements to the leave management process to enhance efficiency and employee satisfaction.
Provide guidance and training to managers and HR team members on leave policies and best practices.
Support ADA accommodations process when related to employee leave.
Prepare regular reports on leave trends, usage, and compliance for HR leadership.
Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate and timely payment related to leaves.
Assist with return-to-work processes and reintegration planning.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience managing leave of absence programs in a corporate or multi-state environment.
Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, and related employment laws.
Experience working with third-party leave administration vendors preferred.
Exceptional communication skills with a focus on empathy and clarity.
Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of confidentiality.
Proficiency with HRIS and leave management systems; Workday experience is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year
