We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience processing time and payroll in a manufacturing environment, along with proficiency using online platforms like UKG Ready or ADP. This role focuses on ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, handling accounts payable data entry, and collaborating with the purchasing and materials group to resolve discrepancies. The position also involves enforcing company policies, managing payroll deductions, and ensuring compliance with tax filings.
Key Responsibilities
Time & Payroll Processing:
Review employee time punches and time-off requests daily.
Verify punches against schedules, notify managers of missing or inconsistent information, and address schedule issues.
Ensure attendance points are tracked in line with company policy.
Payroll Management:
Process payroll in-house and using online platforms (UKG Ready or ADP).
Handle VOEs, garnishments, and child support orders.
Enter new payroll deductions and manage payroll journal entries (JE) in Alere accounting system.
Accounts Payable & Reconciliation:
Perform 3-way matching and data entry for AP in a manufacturing environment.
Collaborate with the purchasing/materials team to resolve receipt and GL coding discrepancies.
Match credit card receipts to monthly statements and enter related invoices.
Compliance & Reporting:
Conduct account analysis on payroll tax balance sheet accounts.
Verify that payroll tax services have paid taxes and filed returns timely; store filings in electronic files.
Prepare internal reports on payroll wage expenses and attendance points.
Administrative Tasks:
Perform scanning and filing duties (both physical and electronic).
Enforce company policies regarding time punches and time off, while handling sensitive employee pay issues with professionalism and tact.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
3+ years of experience in payroll processing in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with payroll systems like UKG Ready or ADP.
Strong understanding of 3-way matching and Accounts Payable processes.
Experience with GL coding and collaborating with purchasing/materials teams.
Technical Skills:
Basic to average proficiency in Excel (e.g., creating and managing spreadsheets).
Experience with payroll journal entry imports and using accounting software like Alere.
Soft Skills:
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, especially when enforcing company policies.
Ability to manage emotions and handle sensitive conversations with employees regarding pay issues professionally.
Pay Details: $50,000.00 to $60,000.00 per year
