Job Title: Accounts Receivable / Collections Specialist
Location: On-site 5 days – Green Brook, NJ

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable / Collections Specialist to support the collections process for our diverse property portfolio client. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely receipt of rental payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and delivering excellent service to tenants. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the property management and accounting teams to optimize cash flow and reduce delinquencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Collections Support: Monitor and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable, including rent and other tenant charges
Tenant Communication: Contact tenants via phone, email, and written correspondence to remind them of upcoming or overdue payments
Payment Processing: Accurately record and apply payments in the accounting system
Issue Resolution: Assist in resolving billing discrepancies and tenant disputes professionally and promptly
Reporting: Maintain up-to-date records of collection activities and assist in preparing aging reports and status updates
Documentation: Ensure all communications and actions are properly documented in the system
Compliance: Adhere to all applicable laws and company policies related to collections and tenant interactions
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the property management and accounting teams to ensure alignment on tenant accounts and payment status
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable or collections, preferably within property management or real estate
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
