LHH Recruitment Solutions is on the lookout for a Trade Compliance Officer with specialized knowledge in tariffs affecting products traded between Mexico and Canada.

Position Summary: The Trade Compliance Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring that businesses comply with import and export regulations. This position involves minimizing risks and facilitating smooth international trade by navigating complex laws, tariffs, and sanctions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stay updated on import/export laws, regulations, tariffs, and sanctions.

  • Manage documentation related to shipments.

  • Ensure accurate product classification according to regulatory guidelines.

  • Identify and mitigate trade compliance risks.

  • Monitor compliance activities and internal controls.

  • Provide advice to internal stakeholders on trade compliance matters.

  • Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to regulations.

  • Assist in obtaining and managing licenses and permits.

  • Implement and maintain sanctions screening programs.

  • Analyze trade policies to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.

  • Extensive knowledge of export/import laws for Mexico, Canada, and the US.

  • 5-10 years of experience in customs and global trade.

  • Operational experience in export/import operations and risk management.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain government clearances.

  • Preferred background in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in interpreting and providing guidance on export/import regulations for Mexico, Canada, and the US.

  • Experience in training on export/import laws for Mexico, Canada, and the US.

  • Integrity, adaptability under pressure, and the ability to work independently.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.



Pay Details: $50.00 to $55.00 per hour
