Job Title: Temp Buyer

Location: Hartford, CT

Hourly Rate: $35

Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Temp Buyer to join our team in Hartford, NY. The ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing and supply chain management, with strong negotiation skills and the ability to establish and maintain relationships with vendors.

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate with vendors to reach buy pricing and place purchase orders.

  • Specify and obtain submittals for alternate items when needed.

  • Troubleshoot deliveries and address any QA issues and material count discrepancies.

  • Verify invoices and ensure timely delivery of materials to support production.

  • Manage ongoing relationships with suppliers and facilitate periodical KPI reviews.

  • Identify opportunities for efficiency, cost savings, lead time improvement, and communication.

  • Screen the market for new sources of supply based on cost, quality, capacity, and service.

  • Mitigate risk with proactive dual-sourcing and alternative sourcing of high-risk components.

Requirements:

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, filtering, v-lookups, etc.).

  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail and effective problem-solving techniques.

  • Ability to remain calm in a high-volume environment.

  • Minimum of a high school diploma.

  • At least three years of experience in a similar role.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ERP systems and supply chain strategy.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.

  • Knowledge of procurement practices and procedures.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.



Pay Details: $35.00 per hour
