Logistics/Inventory Specialist

LHH Recruitment is seeking a Logistics/Inventory Specialist for a client located in Melville, NY. This role involves comprehensive management of the order cycle, from initiation to final delivery, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and effective communication with both internal teams and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the end-to-end order process: from sales order initiation to final customer delivery.
  • Enter and track orders across multiple channels, ensuring all details are accurate and up to date.
  • Coordinate and monitor Air & Ocean Imports/Exports and Trucking.
  • Optimize shipping and transport procedures through logistics expertise.
  • Work independently while maintaining close collaboration with team members.
  • Communicate effectively with overseas vendors and manage incoming shipments.
  • Ensure accuracy of purchase orders and collaborate with suppliers.
  • Evaluate and determine optimal order placement timing.
  • Establish and maintain maximum and minimum inventory levels to meet order fulfillment requirements.
  • Serve as a problem solver, proactively handling issues with a take-charge attitude.
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail, adapting to changes and balancing competing priorities.
  • Conduct persistent follow-up with vendors and customers to ensure timely coordination.
  • Monitor and track both Import and Domestic Deliveries.
  • Handle any damages or issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Maintain vigilant oversight on orders from receipt to delivery, ensuring customer updates are provided throughout.
  • Arrange and support logistics operations as needed.
  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication.
  • Exhibit team player mentality, working cohesively with all stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of order management and shipment tracking.
  • Experience with Air & Ocean Imports/Exports and trucking coordination.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle problem-solving and follow through with minimal supervision.
  • Highly detail-oriented, with the ability to adapt to changing demands.
  • Proven experience managing vendor and customer coordination.
  • Experience with inventory management and order planning.

Job type: Contract to hire
Location: Melville, NY
Compensation: $30-$35/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm



Pay Details: $30.00 to $40.00 per hour
