LHH is actively looking for a Logistics Manager for a manufacutring company in the Homewood area. The ideal candidate would have experience in driver management, is well versed in bulk and dry van safety and DOT requirements, and can work in a highly collaborative environment. Experience with driver training and working with both internal fleet as well as partnering with 3PLs is a must.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement departmental strategies, SOPs, best practices, and training documents

• Work interdepartmentally to ensure customer needs are met

• Hire, train and lead OTR drivers

• Ensure all drivers are adhiring to DOT regulations and safety procurdures

• Oversee the routing and delivery of both bulk and dry freight

• Manage outbound, inbound and backhauls

• Manage relationships with 3rd party providers, including monitoring KPIs and contract negociations

• Work with leadership to strategically expand the department

• Additional duties as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

• Previous OTR driver experience a strong plus!

• 5+ years of logistics and transportation experience

• 2+ years of driver leadership experience

• Liquid bulk freight experience

• Hazmat experience a plust

• Experience with electronic driver logs

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
