LHH is looking for a Senior Accountant for our client in Houston, TX, who will supervise corporate accounting staff and functions, including coordination with plants on reporting issues, benefit plans and accounts, year-end audits with external audit firms, and monthly reporting.
Job Responsibilities
Ensure accuracy of accounting data input and reports.
Review reconciliations of general ledger and bank accounts.
Handle accounting for stock-based compensation.
Analyze critical accounts and balances.
Prepare monthly internal reporting package for management review.
Support SEC filings and prepare supporting reports and documents.
Collaborate with external audit firms on quarterly reviews and year-end audits.
Provide accounting support to other departments.
Coordinate accounting of benefit plans and other monthly close matters with subsidiaries.
Train professional staff in applied accounting theory and logic.
Identify and enhance major performance areas through automation.
Prepare bank reports, support bank audits, treasury initiatives, and cash accounting projects.
Stay updated on changes in accepted accounting principles and ensure compliance with advantageous changes.
Perform primary thinking tasks encompassed by this job description.
Any additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent with seven or more years of progressive general and corporate accounting experience, preferably with a large public company.
CPA and/or MBA preferred.
Knowledge of general and corporate accounting and financial statement preparation is required.
Previous supervisory experience desired.
Familiarity with computerized accounting systems, including SAP and SAP BPC, is critical.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, is required.
Pay Details: $100,000.00 to $127,000.00 per year
