LHH is proactively seeking a detail-oriented and organized Benefits Administrator to assist our client’s team in the Houston area during the benefits enrollment period. This is a contract role focused on supporting employees through the enrollment process and ensuring timely and accurate benefits administration.
  • Job Title: Benefits Administrator
  • Location: Houston area, Texas
  • Job Type: Contract/Temporary
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
  • Pay Rate: $24.00 - $30.00/hr (DOE)
As a Benefits Administrator, you will be primarily responsible for providing hands-on support during the benefits enrollment season. This includes assisting employees with benefits questions, processing enrollments and changes, and ensuring compliance with plan requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and prior experience in employee benefits administration.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Enrollment Support: Guide employees through the benefits enrollment process, addressing questions and troubleshooting issues.
  • Data Entry & Processing: Accurately process benefits elections and changes in HRIS and benefits platforms.
  • Employee Support: Respond to inquiries related to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and other benefit programs.
  • Documentation: Ensure all benefit changes are documented and processed in a timely manner.
  • Compliance: Support compliance with plan rules, ERISA regulations, and company policies.
  • Carrier Coordination: Communicate with insurance carriers and third-party administrators as needed.
  • Reporting: Generate and review reports to verify enrollment data and resolve discrepancies.
  • Training & Communication: Assist in the distribution of open enrollment materials and resources to employees.
  • Administrative Support: Support the HR and benefits team with additional administrative tasks during the enrollment period.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Assist with special projects or audits related to benefits as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in benefits administration or a related HR role.
  • Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with HRIS and benefits platforms (e.g., Workday, ADP, UKG, Benefitfocus, etc.).
  • Customer Service: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and documentation.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines during peak periods.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve benefit-related issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain the highest level of confidentiality in handling sensitive employee information.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work well both independently and as part of a collaborative HR team.
