Job Title: Customer Operations Specialist – Methanol
Location: Houston, TX 77010
Industry: Chemical / Energy / Logistics

Salary Range: $64,000 – $72,000
Job Summary:
Join our client’s growing Methanol Department, active in four areas: North American distribution, trading and positioning, ocean vessel operations, and Latin American projects.
As a Customer Operations Specialist – Methanol, you will play a critical role in supporting trading activities, logistics coordination, and documentation management for bulk methanol shipments. This is a sales support role focused on ensuring smooth operations and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate deliveries to customers across North America from diverse locations
Monitor customer demand and process Purchase Orders
Liaise with internal sales teams regarding delivery schedules, pricing, and inventory
Negotiate and contract logistics services including trucks, barges, and rail
Prepare and manage shipping documents and instructions
Track transaction costs and resolve delivery-related issues
Maintain accurate inventory tracking and input data into SAP and Excel control sheets
Ensure timely payment of freight, demurrage, and logistics costs
Handle invoicing, payment processing, and collections
Monitor customer credit exposure and report to sales team
Provide excellent customer service and general administrative support
Qualifications:
Required:
1–4 years of experience in Liquid Bulk transportation and/or Terminal operations
1–4 years of experience in shipping documents, billing, and accounting accrual
1–4 years of experience in customer service and logistics coordination
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP systems
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Understanding of supply chain operations and internal control requirements
Preferred:
Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree
Credit and accounting knowledge
Languages:
English (Required)
Pay Details: $64,000.00 to $72,000.00 per year
