Overview:
LHH Recruitment is seeking a knowledgeable and service-oriented Employee Benefits Specialist on behalf of our client, a respected organization based in the Houston area. This full-time, on-site contract role is well-suited for candidates with experience in benefits administration who enjoy providing employee support and ensuring compliance with benefit-related policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer employee benefit programs including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, COBRA, and retirement plans
- Assist employees with benefits-related questions, claims resolution, and enrollment processes
- Coordinate open enrollment, including distributing materials, processing changes, and maintaining documentation
- Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance in HRIS and benefits systems
- Collaborate with vendors, brokers, and internal departments to ensure seamless benefits operations
- Conduct audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations
- Support leave of absence administration (FMLA, ADA, etc.) and related communications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in employee benefits administration or HR support roles
- Familiarity with benefits regulations including ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and COBRA
- Strong organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and experience with HRIS or benefits platforms
